Enabling external data sharing.

Connect to a single or multiple internal data sources and simply share with external collaborators.

The current challenges with external data sharing

To help make the most of datasets, external collaborators such as business analysts or data scientists can use their different perspectives to extract additional insights from an organization’s internal datasets. In many cases, data providers will copy or mirror their data sets to grant external users access to their data. Sending an external party a copy of a dataset greatly increases the risk of a data breach and effectively relinquishes ownership and control of that dataset. The process can also be inefficient especially when only a certain segment of data from the dataset is needed by the external end user.

How it works

Bitnobi acts as a mediator, placing the onus for launching data jobs on the end user by ensuring that the end user meets the data provider's "rules of engagement".

  • 1. Define user attributes

Data owners can define the rules of engagement for each data set based on their organization's data governance standards.

  • 2. Enable preview of data

Based on the rules of engagement created by data owners, end users will be able to see previews of the data they have access to.

  • 3. Build a data job

End users will be able to use their data previews to create queries simply with Bitnobi’s visual workflow canvas.

  • 4. Secure transformed, aggregate data only

End users are able to see preview results from their query and visualize it using our simple reporting tool or integrations with other reporting tools.

 Features

  • 100% web-based

  • Dynamic access control

  • Data catalogue

  • Visual workflow interface with python and R scripting capabilities

  • Internal data visualization tool

  • Integration with third party, data analytic packages

  • Integration with data owner’s identity management service upon request

End-User Benefits.

  • Faster access to usually difficult to request data from external partners to further research and data analysis activities

  • Securely access approved datasets from anywhere

  • The features enable both simple and complex data queries based on the needs of the end user

Data Owner Benefits.

  • Maintain full control of proprietary datasets while sharing data with a third party outside of your organization

  • Securely access approved datasets from anywhere

  • Enable analysts of all skill levels

  • Track the usage of both internally and externally shared datasets through the audit log
